Hey there!

Been a while hasn't it?!

I root round the internet for good music for the radio show on a weekly basis so I've decided to throw up a list of my favorite tracks from the show on a weekly basis. Below is a round up of what I have been listening to of late:

Now what better way to get you in a weekend mood than Stooshe, a 'gritty-n-real' version of The Saturdays. 'Fuck Me' Kat Krazy mix is a whopper.

The UK is churning out some amazing artists for 2012 and I have my fingers tightly X'ed for Youngman. He's signed to ShyFX’s label Digital Soundboy Records. Check out 'Who Knows' below.

The EP, of the same name, is out now on iTunes which includes the highly listenable Drumsound &Bassline Smith Full Vocal Remix.

I love it when remixes are better than the original mix. The Fat Rat remix of Foster the People's 'Don't Stop' is a perfectly fine example

This week has been a good week for music videos shot in the UK featuring major international recording artists.

Britney was in a shoot out in Hackney and Rihanna found love in a hopeless place (Belfast).

Today's top 3 amazing facts:

It's my birthday today.

I share it Avril Lavigne.

We are both 27.

Once a year I am reminded that Avril is my EXACT age, I ponder how similar our lives have been, the talent, the looks and the subsequent fame. Also how our lives have differed, she chose pop stardom while I, on the other hand, answered my calling of mundane office work.

Now that me and Avril are grown-ups we should be able to do/ know the following:

Be able to cook at least one meal to dinner party standard without a recipe
Know EXACTLY how much money you earn… net… less tax and all that within a year. I still have no idea / refuse to acknowledge it
Have a CV that has little to no padding in it
How to deliver bad news / throw a punch properly
How to Avoid 'splash-back' when washing hands after using the toilet

The MediaGuardian reported that Simon Cowell's US version of The X Factor launched with just over 12 million viewers on Wednesday night – more than 50% down on the opening night audience for American Idol earlier this year.

The first episode of the US series was pretty standard with the only noticeable difference being the massive increase in the budget for production.

The main reasons I tuned in were to see how those Brits would come across state-side:

Yes 23 minutes in and the yanks are finally exposed to Cowell's partner in crime, Sinitta!

And there you have it, US X Factor S01E01. Sure the ratings were low but what the Americans don’t realise is that the X Factor is very much like anal sex... sure the first few occasions are strange and uncomfortable but sooner or later it’s all you're going to want to do at the weekend.

Classixx with their label green label sound (mountain dew anyone?!) have released an official video for Julio Bashmore's remix of the Classixx track "Into the Valley feat. Karl Dixon".

Marcus Herring was roped into direct the vid and the result was the trippy 'little house on the prairie' style video below.

'Hit Me Like A Rock' is the single off the forthcoming album 'La Liberación' (I hope I got that right) out Aug 22. The Cover is below and closely resembles an advert for H&M.

The album contains only 11 tracks which I love because you know that there's a clear concept to the album and it doesn't need to contain filler or any extra's tacked on to the end.

If I were to make an album my closing track would be 'Fuck Everything' too...

The song aired on Scott Mills yesterday and is available on iTunes this Sunday. Why would a record label go to such lengths to stop people from listening to it?

I understand that record companies now make money from advertising on the pages the artists music videos are embedded in but at the moment there is no official video for the song. Taking it down just seems counter productive. It's baffling that they are still trying to police something as uncontrollable as the internet.

Besides turning up on day one looking like a cross between a character from Narnia and a supersplit that shouldn't have gotten her the chop before the first episode even aired.

I thought the injection of another Brit into the show was a really good idea for the US X Factor. The sad fact is that the line up now includes Simon, Paula, Other Guy and Nicole Shirt-singer (well, that's how you pronounce it isn't it?!) now cements the idea that the US X Factor is an only-slightly-different version of American Idol.

I hope they at least got her a card...

Still, with a shaggy mane like that I hear she's going to bounce right back on her feet by being the new face of Nestle:

Talkin' about Frankmusik

Frankmusik is a beautiful slice of man from the UK. He has recently collaborated with my guilty pleasure band Far East Movement for 'Do It In The A.M. The song will be featured in Frankmusik Album with the same title due in September.

Far East Movement released their 'Free Wired' album last year and while its hardly groud-breaking it distracted me from the tedium of the gym for a few weeks! Definitely worth a download.

I downloaded the Lady GaGa album recently and it's quite different to her previous two. I have a feeling it's probably more personal to her.

I get what she's doing. It's much like dating someone, you want to hide your initial craziness until they get to know the real you.

The 'Born This Way' album didn't sit well with me at first. A few hundred forced listens later and I've grown to love nuances of the songs more so than the full songs.

The ablum contains tracks with bizarre titles, 'Highway Unicorn', 'U&I' and my personal fave 'Sheise' (if you think I'm going to find the german double 's' character on my keyboard think again) which is German for shit. I can only presume that during the initial song writing stages she randomly fused words together and created songs. Good for her!

Anyway, my love for 'Sheise' and Germany in general inspired me to put together a rather camp 5 min mini-mix as an homage to all things Sheise and all things german. The mix is called Das Kräzy Deutsche Mixtapengeshäft naturally.

The Saturdays have delivered their TENTH single 'Notorious' to the Chris Moyles Show Thursday. It's first ever play went down very well and Chris seems to hit the nail on the head when it comes to girlband management!

Fantastic news everyone. Soon it may be legal to burn the CD's you've bought onto your iPod (?!)

Yup, In The Guardian today the Hargreaves report on intellectual property is to recommend legalising the 'ripping' of CDs to digital devices.

I have always presumed this was legal and find it quite bizarre that this is only being discussed now.

The report also suggests relaxing intellectual property laws in the US to allow for more robust humor. Again, I never knew this was such an issue; considering the amount of mixtapes that get released to publicise up and coming artists.

So are mixtapes legal? They shouldn't be because they are using samples, vocals and sometimes entire songs.

If you look up the legality of mixtapes Wikipedia will give you:

Although hip hop mixtapes have been instrumental in supplementing the marketing and promotions endeavors of record labels, and are utilized by major acts with the implicit support of their labels, the Recording Industry Association of America, a political lobby group funded by the major record corporations, classifies these mixtapes as bootleg or pirated music CDs

So in keeping with the murky laws of music copyright Tinie Tempah released his free Mixtape 'Foreign Object' online yesterday. One of the stand out tracks for me is a slight reworking of last years DEV single "Bass Down Low" produced by The Cataracs.

WHO: Why its Lady GaGa of course!

WHAT: According to Wikipedia she is a 'urban dance musician'.

WHERE: The song is about being in a Club but judging by the video she's obviously invaded the Brady Bunch living room.

WHEN: Won't hit Europe officially for another couple of weeks but enjoy it while you can as this song will be played to death. From radio stations to Chavs on a buses with one amp speakers, Its the new umbrella-ella-ella-eh.

The press release says:

What’s interesting are the hidden Britney messages in each video:-
